    CynicWolf:

This is a bit off topic for this weeks podcast and its going back quiet a ways. I just started listening around the time that episode 14 came out so I had to catch up late. Anyway, previously you mentioned that as Buddhist we are suppose to be passafists. I’ve recently attempted to start practicing Buddhism more seriously in my day to day life and I’ve found myself with a problem. I’ve signed up to join our great nations Armed Services and I actually leave the 3rd of August. Sadly I probably wont be able to get a reply from you before I leave. How should I do this, I am suppose to be a passafist but I also have a very deep sense of patriotism and have no regrets for choosing to join the military. How should I approach being more serious about Buddhism while in this conflict?
Oh, and sorry for the rediculously long post…

I recently had the same conversation with someone else on the forum.

You should read through the various comments there.

It *IS* a real dilemma, but people in your situation work through it all the time. I found this website, which might be of help:

Good luck, and thanks for serving!
